17 Jul Advanced ADRIA POWER SYSTEMS® mining EV charging systems available through Iritron
17 July 2024: Iritron, the engineering, integration and manufacturing company that provides solutions in the fields of electrical, instrumentation, control systems and decision support systems, announces its appointment as the official distributor of ADRIA POWER SYSTEMS®.
Adria is a progressive Canadian company with over 25 years of experience specialising primarily in the design and manufacture of advanced electrical power systems for the mining industry.
Of particular significance to the South African mining industry utilising battery-powered electric vehicles, is Adria’s innovative range of surface and underground IP66 battery charging units providing multi-voltage; from 400V – 11kV input including mine communication protocols and CCS1 & CCS2 compliance.
Alwyn Rautenbach, Iritron’s CEO states, “The availability of the Adria range of products is very important for our mining industry allowing us to facilitating access to state-of-the-art safe, compliant, rugged and powerful battery charging technology, in virtually any configuration, from a single reputable source.”
Common key features found in its Multiple Outlet, Single Outlet, Self-Supporting Pedestal and Wall Outletofferings include:
- Flexibility, allowing the charging of any type of battery chemistry.
- Suitable for underground or surface
- Clean – the THD (total harmonic distortion) < 3% from 100% to 50% loads & less than 6% at 25% load, well below the maximum required by the IEEE Std 519.
- The 3rd harmonic, among the most problematic, is particularly attenuated.
- User friendly – state-of-the-art GUI ( Graphical user interface) allows user friendly use and status reporting.
- Multi voltage incoming 380V, 480V, 600V and 1 000V, 50/60Hz
- Total charging power up to 5MW
- No external power transformer required
- Battery communication protocols – Ethernet, MODBUS and others
- Bi-directional and customisation available.
In particular, the Multiple Output model features:
- 1 to 20 outputs
- Recharge of any type of battery chemistry
- Suitable for underground or surface
- Input voltage from 380V up to 38kV
- Simple and intuitive use
- Up to 5MW charging power.
The Single Output unit includes all the features of the Multiple Outlet model but with single or multiple outputs and a charging capacity of up to 400kW.
The Self-Supporting Pedestal model includes:
- Single or double output (max output 500kW)
- Touch screen HMI (Human machine interface) with advanced control functions
- LED charge status indicator in corners
- Floor mounting (fixed or portable)
- Can be installed up to 100m from the main charging station (more possible)
- Optional cable reel (petrol pump style)
The Adria range of Wall Outlets offer:
- Charger accessory (remote output)
- Charges any type of chemistry
- Suitable for underground or surface
- Single or multiple output
- Simple and intuitive use
- Up to 500kW per charging station
Enclosure specifications:
- IP66 Totally sealed enclosure and cooled with an IP66 sealed air conditioning unit
- Gasketed doors and cables incoming/outgoing gland plates
- Durable epoxy paint (colors TBD)
- Sturdy construction
- 4x lifting lugs to ease installation process.
- Forklift holes in skid base for on-site transportation
All Iritron projects are carried out in accordance with International Standardisation Organisation (ISO) 9001:2015, ISO45001:2018 and ISO14001:2015 quality and integrated safety, health, and environmental standards. Further, Iritron implements systems that enable clients to achieve Good Automated Manufacturing Practices (GAMP 5) compliance.
