26 February 2018 Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA) welcomes the recently announced changes to the cabinet and executive of President Cyril Ramaphosa. In particular, CESA welcomes the return of highly respected and competent ministers to the critical portfolios of Public Enterprises and Finance. Both Minister Gordhan and Nene have a challenging task ahead of them to get both South Africa’s SOE’s as well our economy on an upward curve again. CESA is confident however that under the stewardship of both these ministers, positive international sentiment and hence investment will begin to flow once again....

The conference and awards are being held at Gallagher Estate, Midrand in Gauteng from the 30th October to the 2nd November 2016 with a theme of ‘ICT for Development, Access and Growth’....

The Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA) Bi-annual Economic and Capacity Survey for the period July to December 2015, just released indicates that times are tough and getting tougher with industry confidence the lowest in 16 years. The report indicates that the consulting engineering industry will have to adapt to a low growth environment as the outlook for infrastructure spending is hampered by poor economic growth, lower than expected revenue by government, international economic instability and price volatility, and low private sector confidence. Over 540 firms employing just over 24 315 staff, who collectively earn a total fee income of R23.4...

Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA) believes that the recent decision by the Competitions Commission to reject the application for exemption of Identification of Engineering Work amendments to the Engineering Professions Act (EPA) (46 of 2000) is in part short sighted and with insufficient insight into the risks to public health and safety of the beloved citizenry of this Country....

Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA)’s Bi-Annual Economic Capacity Survey (BECS) from January to June 2015 just released indicates that fee earnings increased by around 1.2%, against an expected decrease of between 3% and 5%. Some of the larger firms did better than expected, although several firms still reported negative growth in the first six months of the year. This follows a marginal contraction of 0.7% and an increase of 6% in the previous two surveys. Respondents expect earnings to fall by between 2% and 3% in nominal terms during the last six months of 2015. CESA has about 537...
