SAIV announces full agenda for V20 2025 Conference & Summit
3 September 2025 – The South African Institute of Valuers (SAIV) has announced the full programme for the Valuation 20 (V20) Conference & Summit 2025, taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
This year’s conference and summit, taking place on 15 and 16 September, will explore critical themes and deliver practical tools shaping the valuation profession amid rapid technological advancement, evolving market dynamics and a heightened focus on sustainability.
An anticipated 200 delegates – including representatives from the valuation industry, regulators, policymakers and industry experts – will gather to discuss the future of the valuation industry and to build on the key outcomes from the V20 Summit held in Brazil in 2024.
Featuring the latest research themes and frameworks, the conference will open with a compelling discussion on AI & Valuation: Driving Change or Creating Disruption? Moderated by Raymond Moran, MD of FON Advisors, the panel will see industry experts, including International Association of Certified Valuation Specialists – Indian Chapter MD Praveen Subramanya; Secretary General of ATASA, the Spanish Association of Valuation Companies Leandro Escobar; Director of Quality and Governance at Herron Todd White Kevin Brogan and Professor Manya Mooya, Head of Department (HOD) in the Department of Construction Economics and Management at the University of Cape Town, examine artificial intelligence in valuation practices, while also addressing concerns around ethical challenges and the changing role of human valuers.
In a session titled Beyond Numbers: How Market Dynamics Are Reshaping Valuation, speakers, including TseboREAL Asset Management CEO Mashilo Pitjeng, real estate professional Robert Hecek and Vice President of MSCI Eileen Andrew will unpack innovative approaches that capture the fluidity of market forces, regulatory shifts and economic uncertainty, ensuring valuations remain relevant amidst constant change.
SAIV former president Dianne de Wet highlights: “The V20 Summit has become the most influential gathering for valuation, shaping future decision-making and investment. What makes it stand out is the scale and diversity of voices and ideas. When thought leaders from around the worlds come together, they shape the future of our industry, and we look forward to the ideas, commitments and collaborations that will emerge in Cape Town.”
A spotlight on professional integrity and growth emerges in Shaping the Valuer’s Role: Ethics, Growth & Industry Evolution, where industry leaders such as Australian Property Institute CEO John Winter; International Valuation Standards Council board member and president of Zenvaluations Lionel Zaba; and Rashi Alreshoud executive director of strategy and business development at Taqeem, will discuss how valuers can navigate evolving regulations and stakeholder expectations while upholding ethical standards.
The summit also highlights the critical importance of sustainability in valuation with Sustainability & ESG: Rethinking Value in a Changing World. This session will underscore the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors into valuation models, reflecting growing global demands for responsible investment and corporate accountability.
Regulatory and governance developments take center stage in Regulation, Governance & The Evolving Landscape of Valuation, emphasizing how new legal frameworks are reshaping valuation transparency and credibility.
As the economy increasingly values intellectual capital, the session on Valuing Intangible Assets in Today’s Economy will unpack techniques for accurately assessing non-physical assets such as brands, intellectual property, and data, which now constitute a major part of enterprise value.
The conference concludes with an urgent focus on Valuing Nature and Resources: Carbon Credits, Biodiversity, and the Just Transition. This session addresses methodologies for valuing environmental assets and supports the global transition towards sustainable and equitable economic models.
The V20 Conference & Summit 2025 promises to provide attendees with groundbreaking insights and actionable strategies to navigate the complexities of modern valuation.
