The facility required an additional workshop for automotive hangars within its campus to accommodate the increase in students at the campus workshop.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Med-TechEngineers managing director Gift Mphefu says that the project scope of work for Med-TechEngineers covered an array of engineering services such as the provision of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, structural engineering, architecture, quantity surveying and project management.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cThe project&#8217;s capital cost amounted to R8 million, and construction started in March 2017 and was completed at the end of March 2022. Med-TechEngineers had to endure and overcome many challenges during the project by addressing each hurdle professionally,\u201d adds Mphefu.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>One of the challenges experienced in the project was that as members of the project team left due to natural attrition, new members joined the project, creating inconsistency and continuity within the team. \u201cTo overcome this obstacle, Med-TechEngineers ensured that the team consisted of experienced and professional individuals at all times who knew the importance of effective communication within a team setting. Med-TechEngineers ensured that the team remained focussed, motivated, and enthusiastic during the project to uplift the team&#8217;s spirit &#8211; this was a pivotal moment to ensure its successful delivery.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>During the project&#8217;s peak, Med-TechEngineers employed fifteen people as part of the project team, contributing to the employment drive desperately needed in the South African labour sector. \u201cIn addition, Med-TechEngineers also outsourced specialised work to service providers, which includes rational fire design, land surveying, geotechnical investigations and occupational health and safety planning,\u201d Mphefu explains.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>He further commended the client&#8217;s continuous interest in the project\u2019s progress and deliverables, stating: &#8220;I believe this project will open many doors for Med-TechEngineers.
