07 July 2023:<\/em><\/strong> Zimile Consulting Engineers is excited to announce the appointment of Abimbola Sole<\/strong> to the position of Managing Director.<\/p>\n

Her meteoric rise through the civil engineering ranks did not escape the notice of the CEO and management of Zimile, and her appointment as Acting Managing Director dovetailed with the firm\u2019s aspirations to continue to empower young professionals and transform the engineering landscape.<\/p>\n

Sole\u2019s vision is to continue to grow the organisation through her commitment to training, mentoring and skills transfer, while identifying rising stars who can take on the mantle in the future.<\/p>\n

Sole graduated from the University of Pretoria with a degree in Civil Engineering; and continued to pursue her academic career while working. She then graduated with a Masters Degree in Engineering Management and Structural Engineering in 2014.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy love for STEM subjects was inspired by my father, who is an electronics \/ electrical \u00a0engineer, it sparked my interest in engineering, especially when I realised how infrastructure was not working for so many South Africans. And, this is why, I believed it could be quite an interesting career and the rest is history! Through Zimile and its determined team, I believe I can make an active difference in shaping the development of infrastructure especially in the heart of rural South Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her career at Zimile started in 2018,\u00a0 where she initially took on the role of a technical manager responsible for building services and airports; and over time, her career grew within the organisation into may roles including the Business Operations Manager and now MD.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving a supportive CEO, management team and staff allows my leadership to flourish naturally, as we continue to strive for the same goals and objectives within the business. I am determined to continue to invest in and enhance the working experience of all of the young professionals at Zimile, all of whom are committed to building a brighter future for South Africa,\u201d she adds.<\/p>\n
