{"id":18309,"date":"2025-09-22T12:31:15","date_gmt":"2025-09-22T12:31:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swmcommunications.co.za\/press-office\/?p=18309"},"modified":"2025-09-23T12:38:20","modified_gmt":"2025-09-23T12:38:20","slug":"cesa-signs-mou-with-interstate-consultants-engineers-guild-to-support-the-recovery-of-ukraine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swmcommunications.co.za\/press-office\/cesa-signs-mou-with-interstate-consultants-engineers-guild-to-support-the-recovery-of-ukraine\/","title":{"rendered":"CESA signs MoU with Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild to support the recovery of Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Cape Town, South Africa \u2013 22 September 2025<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA) and the Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild (ICEG) of Ukraine have formally signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration and create opportunities for joint performance between South African and Ukrainian companies in support of Ukraine\u2019s recovery and reconstruction.<\/p>\n<p>The signing took place in Cape Town, at the International Federation of Consulting Engineers\u2019 (FIDIC) Global Infrastructure Conference, with CESA President, <strong>David Leukes,<\/strong> and ICEG President, <strong>Oleksandr Nepomnyashchyy,<\/strong> formalising the agreement.<\/p>\n<p>The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation that aligns with FIDIC\u2019s global aspiration to improve quality of life and promote the highest international standards in procurement, design, construction, and asset management across the built and natural environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key areas of collaboration include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Promoting economic cooperation to drive development in both South Africa and Ukraine.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening partnerships in construction and related fields during Ukraine\u2019s recovery, while also leveraging Ukrainian expertise to support similar projects in South Africa.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitating networking and information-sharing among member companies to encourage partnerships and business opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>Advancing innovation and methodological best practices in engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting joint initiatives within the FIDIC framework.<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining ongoing dialogue to deepen relations between the two associations and their members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Speaking at the signing, Leukes said: \u201cThis partnership is not only about contributing to the recovery of Ukraine, but also about building stronger bridges of collaboration between our two countries. Together, we can harness the strength of engineering excellence to deliver infrastructure that transforms lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CESA CEO<strong> Chris Campbell <\/strong>added: \u201cThrough this cooperation, Ukrainian and South African engineers will be able to share expertise, foster innovation, and develop sustainable solutions that benefit both our nations.
